Ranchi, Nov.11: Candidates aspiring for the civil services in the state have come in agitation mode after they noticed irregularities in organisation and publication of result of the preliminary test (PT) organised by Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) to shortlist candidates for main examinations.
They today sat together at Morhabadi and chalked out strategy for their agitation programme. They have planned to start the programme from Bapu Vatika in Morhabadi on November 15, which is the birth anniversary of tribal icon Birsa Munda and the state foundation day.
“We have planned to organise a programme of massive agitation on November 15 for cancellation of the 7th JPSC PT result and in case this does not happen we will lay a siege to the JPSC office on November 16 and stop vehicular movement in the locality,” a candidate who appeared for the JPSC PT said.
Asked what was wrong in the PT examination and its result that compelled them to go in agitation mode, the candidates said that corrupt practices have marred the PT examination.
“Manipulative management dominated the examination. First, the examination centres were given in remote places with poor road connectivity and then questions were given out of syllabus. Finally, when the result was published it came to the fore many students from three particular centres in Lohardaga, Sahibganj and Latehar qualified the PT,” a candidate said.
Another candidate said the agitation is not only for cancellation of examinations but to end corruption in the JPSC.
“None of the JPSC civil service examinations concluded without any controversy. Thus we want corruption to end in the recruiting agency,” the candidate said.
Safique Imam, convenor of Jharkhand Youth Association, confirmed the planning saying he will organised a press conference on the matter tomorrow to brief in more details.
