Daltonganj, Nov. 11: The prey (kill) of the tiger that was sighted on November 8 (Monday) in Palamu Tiger Reserve, has been discovered today in the jungle of Bareysanr range. This range is located far away from human habitation.
Field director and chief conservator of forest at PTR, Kumar Ashutosh said, “It is a feral buffalo and could weigh more than 150 kgs when alive. The tiger, which our ranger Tarun Kumar Singh of the Bareysanr range sighted, had finished the internals of this feral buffalo.”
“No one has come to claim for the compensation of the preyed buffalo yet,” added the field director.
He said that the officials at PTR now have every evidence to prove that the ranger and his trackers did see the male tiger.
“We got pugmark, scat and now the kill. There is nothing left now to prove that the tiger was not there in the Bareysanr range,” Ashutosh added.
He further said he believes that there may be more such big cats and the need of the hour is to patrol the length and breadth of the tiger reserve.
