Ind vs NZ 1st Test: Shreyas Iyer to make debut, Team India hits training ground

Kanpur, Nov 24: Shreyas Iyer will be making his Test debut in the opening game of the series against New Zealand in the Green Park Stadium on Thursday, confirmed India stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane on Wednesday.

Indian team will enter the series with confidence having beaten New Zealand by 3-0 in the recently concluded T20I series, but KL Rahul is replaced by Suryakumar Yadav due to injury. The three top- class batsman Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Rahul will also not be there. India has also given rest to Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami.

Meanwhile, ahead of the first test, Indian team hit the nets for an intense training session at the Green Park Stadium on Wednesday.

Stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane will lead the hosts in the first of the two-match Test series, starting Thursday against New Zealand.
