DC Deoghar slaps show cause notice on 3 officials for lapses in electoral work

Dhanbad, Nov 25: Deoghar deputy commissioner (DC) cum district electoral officer Manjunath Bhajantri, on Thursday, has slapped a notice to three officials for their lackadaisical approach in execution of Special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll programme 2022.

A show cause notice has been issued to cooperative officer Manikant Singh, Deoghar municipal corporation assistant Ashok Ram and a school teacher, Srikant Jaiswal.

The DC in his notice issued has directed the trio to submit a reply at the office of deputy commissioner within 24 hours.

Besides lackadaisical approach in execution of work , the trio has been charged for not achieving expected target of the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll Programme assigned to them.

While directing to hold the two- day (November 27-28) special camp at all polling both across the district so that voters can add their names in the list, the DC ordered all concerned officers and staff to make voters aware about the importance of voting and encourage them to list their name on priority basis.

“ Ensure that all those who have completed 18 years of age could fill up form-6 till January 1, 2022  with proper documents so that their name can be added in new voter list of district,” said DC, Manjunath Bhajantri.
