Jamshedpur, Nov 30: Train services were affected on the Howrah- Mumbai mainline for several hours on Tuesday due to the derailment of a goods train near loco shed at Tatanagar railway station.

The mishap took place when the empty rakes of a goods train reached the shunting line.

No injury or casualties took place, confirmed railway officials.

The movement of several trains in the Howrah-Mumbai mainline was affected between 12.15 pm and 3 pm.

Tatanagar station director H K Balmuchu said that train services were restored to normalcy after 3 pm following the restoration of work.

The running of Howrah-bound Jan Shatabdi Express, Ispat Express and Mumbai- bound Geetanjali Superfast Express were affected.

The derailment also affected the movement of a couple of local passenger trains.
