Commercial LPG cylinder price hikes by Rs.100.50

New Delhi, Dec.1: The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for commercial cylinders was raised by Rs.100.50 on Wednesday. The 19-kg commercial cylinders will now cost Rs.2,101 in the national capital, compared to Rs.2,000.50 previously. On November 1, the prices were last increased by Rs.266.50.

On the other hand, a 19-kg commercial gas cylinder will cost Rs. 2,051 in Mumbai, up from Rs. 1,950 previously. The commercial LPG prices in Kolkata is now at Rs.2,177, while a 19-kg cylinder will be available for Rs.2,234.50 in Chennai.

Domestic LPG cylinder rates, on the other hand, remained constant. A non-subsidized 14.2 kilogramme household cylinder will cost Rs.899.50 in Delhi.

On October 6, the price of LPG cooking gas cylinders was raised by Rs.15 across the board, including subsidised gas. Prior to that, on October 1, the subsidised and non-subsidised LPG rates were both increased by Rs.25.

The government proposal is for the distribution of 12 14.2-kg cylinders per home at subsidised or below-market pricing. Any quantity in excess of this has to be purchased at market or non-subsidized rates.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, petrol and diesel prices remained steady for the 27th day in a row.

According to Indian Oil Corporation, petrol costs Rs.103.97 in the national capital, while diesel costs Rs. 86.67.

Petrol in Mumbai is at Rs. 109.98 a litre, while diesel is at Rs.94.14 per litre.
