Ranchi, Dec.4: Chief Minister Hemant Soren demanded a 75 percent share in mining jobs during a meeting with the additional secretary of the union mines ministry, M. Nagaraju, at his official residence.
The demand came after Nagaraju during the meeting asked chief minister Soren out of 29 coal blocks work is already going on in three coal blocks and within a few days excavation work will be started at six more coal blocks situated at Keredari, Chatti Bariatu, Badam, Tubed, Tokisud and Lohari with the joint effort of the union and the state government.
Nagaraju shared the developmental information with an intention to seek proper co-operation of the chief minister in mining activities in the state. The chief minister used the opportunity to get something from the centre for the state people.
“Kindly direct mining companies to do their work in accordance with Jharkhand’s Acts. 75 percent employment to locals should be on the priority list,” chief minister Soren said.
Additional secretary Nagaraju on the occasion asked the chief minister to pave the path of road construction connecting the Pachwara coal block with Dumka to ensure proper transportation of coal. On which the chief minister said that road construction will adversely affect the atmosphere of the area and in turn, he asked him for a dedicated railway line.
