Ranchi, Dec.17: Governor Ramesh Bais expressed his displeasure over the functioning of private universities in the state saying that private universities start courses without prior approval of UGC and play with the career of the students.

Governor Bais while reviewing the function of as many as 12 private universities in the presence of additional chief secretary Shailesh Kumar Singh and higher education secretary K.K.Khandelwal asked each private university should have at least 25 acres of land and a properly developed infrastructure within five years.

The governor asked the university authorities to ensure proper placement of their students and take proper care in the selection of senior officers including vice-chancellors, registrars, finance officers, examination controllers, financial advisors among similar others.

The governor on the occasion also asked the university authorities to create such a good academic atmosphere that the state becomes an academic destination and parents take interest in sending their wards to the state in the same way they earlier used to send their wards to Netarhat Vidyalaya.

The governor also asked the authorities for a special toilet for the physically challenged.
