Ranchi, Dec.29: In order to mark two years of completion of the UPA government in Jharkhand, chief minister Hemant Soren today laid the foundation stone of projects involving 17,222 crore, inaugurated projects involving Rs 3206.89 crore and distributed assets worth Rs 1498.38 crore at a state function organised at Morhabadi ground.
Projects for which foundation stones were laid include projects of rural development department involving Rs 173.32 crore, water resources department involving Rs 232.25 crore, urban development and housing department worth Rs 492.30 crore and road construction department involving Rs 1639.94 crore.
Other projects include projects of drinking water and sanitation department involving Rs 8424 crore, building construction department involving 81.06 crore, ST,SC, minority and backward welfare department involving Rs 59.24 crore, health, family welfare and medical education department involving Rs 7.22crore, labour and employment department involving Rs 49.32 crore and Panchayati Raj department involving Rs 0.75 crore.
Projects which were inaugurated include projects of rural development department involving Rs 37.03 crore, water resource department involving Rs 145.22 crore, urban development and housing department involving Rs 85 crore, road construction department involving Rs 1560.01core, drinking water and sanitation department involving Rs 572.17 crore, building construction department involving Rs 39.89 crore.
Other included ST,SC, backward and minority welfare department (20.51 crore), health, family welfare and medical education department (113.67 crore), agriculture, animal husbandry and co-operative department (20.99 crore), school education and literacy department (Rs 14.65 crore), energy department (317.05 crore), labour employment and skill development department (Rs 43.61 crore), high and technical education department (222.8 crore) and Panchayati Raj department (Rs 11.59 crore).
On the occasion, a section of beneficiaries was given cheques under different schemes. While Rs 50,000 was given under the chief minister’s job creation schemes, Rs 10,000 was given under Phulo Jhano scheme. Under universal pension scheme Rs 1000 was given to a beneficiary while under Covid death scheme Rs 50,000 was given to a beneficiary. Under PM Awas Yojna (rural) Rs 1.20 lakh was given.
Chief minister Soren, on the occasion, assured proper assistance to contract workers and suggested them to shun the path of agitation. He asked them to choose a path of dialogue for a solution to their problem.
Those present on the occasion included Governor Ramesh Bais, JMM chief Shibu Soren, rural development minister Alamgir Alam, and Congress state in-charge R.P.N.Singh.
