Ranchi, Dec.31: The State government today decided not to issue any prohibitory orders for New Year celebrations despite observing a surge in the cases of corona in Jharkhand.

The decision was taken after a meeting of the disaster management department authority under the chairmanship of chief minister Hemant Soren.

Health minister Banna Gupta informed a section of media saying while taking the decision of not imposing any prohibitory order in the wake of the third wave of corona pandemic government has decided to increase the testing limit to one lakh per day from January 2.

Apart from this, health minister Gupta said the government has made an appeal to the people to practice restraint while planning to go to a picnic at any picnic spot and plan celebrating the beginning of New Year at homes as far as possible.

Gupta further said a high-level meeting will be organised next week either on Monday or Tuesday to decide what type of prohibition can be imposed in the wake of the corona wave.
