A total of 82 infected patients are admitted to various departments of RIMS. Of these, 23 infected patients are admitted on the second floor of the New Trauma Center. While three children are admitted to New Paying Ward, 12 in Medicine D-2 Ward, 11 in Dengue Ward, 28 in Surgery D-2 Ward and 5 in Pediatric Ward.

Head of Critical Care at RIMS, Dr Pradeep Bhattacharya said that the new strain of virus is much more infectious than the other strains but the point of relief is that it is not deadly.
