Chandigarh, Jan 12: Amarinder Singh, the former Punjab Chief Minister, announced on Wednesday that he has tested positive for Covid-19. Singh stated that he was experiencing mild symptoms due to the infection.
The news comes little over a month before the state’s elections on February 14.
Taking to Twitter, Singh wrote: “I have tested positive for Covid with mild symptoms. Have isolated myself and request all those who came in contact with me to get themselves tested.”

The former Congress politician has teamed up with the BJP to start his own political organisation, the Punjab Lok Congress.
Punjab goes to the polls on February 14, with results expected on March 10.
