Daltonganj, Jan16: Irate residents of two panchayats Bareysanr and Mayapur on Sunday blocked state highway 9 from early morning to late in the afternoon paralysing all traffic on the Netarhat Daltonganj road.
The state highway was jammed in protest against the non availability of cellular service and cellular net work.
A resident Paras Yadav said, “cables of the BSNL have been damaged in the wake of erection of the electricity poles and over the last hour days the residents of the two panchayats Bareysanr and Mayapur are cut off cellularly from the world.”
Students are the worst sufferers as they are missing their online classes. The agitation was for the start of the Jio tower there. This tower is ready for the last five months or so but the residents allege the tiger reserve Palamu officials are lingering the permission to start this tower.
On the other hand deputy director South division of the tiger reserve Palamu Mukesh Kumar said we have recommended for its operation and this matter is lying with the state board of wild life which is the final authority to take the calls on it.
Sources said a tripartite meeting has been proposed among the public, service provider and the PTR on January 21 to sort out this issue failing which the residents have threatened to launch an indefinite chakka jam on this state highway.
