Ranchi, Jan.17: Police have arrested two youths who obstructed them from anticrime checking at Sahajanand Chowk under Argora police station area on Sunday night.

The two include Rajesh Kumar Singh (31), a coal transporter having his permanent residence in Palamu but presently staying in SAIL City under Dhurwa police station area, and Kunal Kumar Chourasia (27) , a resident of Dhanbad who carves tattoos.

Officer-in-charge of Argora police station Vinod Kumar confirmed the arrest saying they will be sent to jail after Covid-19 test tomorrow.

Asked how they obstructed the police officials from anti crime checking, OC Kumar said: “They used abusive language for police on duty and engaged in scuffle when their Honda City Car was intercepted for checking at Sahajanand Chowk.”

A police official said there were five in the car. Asked OC Kumar why three others were spared. On which OC Kumar said: “The three did not misbehave with police. Rather they were asking Singh and Chourasia to behave properly.”

A police official said all were drunk when their car was obstructed. “After their car was obstructed they started misbehaving and threatening police officials of dire consequences. They created such an unruly situation that additional forces were called to bring them to the police station.”
