Jamshedpur, Jan 18: A 30-year-old woman was found lying brutally murdered in a bush behind an under-construction residential apartment under Ulidih police station area in Mango.
Though the murder was committed by the victim’s husband on the premises of Kalyaan Vihar, the under-construction apartment on January 13, the body was recovered from a bush behind colony on Monday evening.
The killer husband, identified as Ashok Gorai, had pierced an iron rod in the victim’s private part, causing her to die. Having killed the woman in one of the rooms of the under-construction apartment, the assailant had dragged the body away into the nearby bush behind the upcoming apartment.
The iron rod, which was about four-feet long, was found intact from the victim’s private part when the police recovered the body.
A stench smell emanating from the area had attracted attention of the builder concerned and eventually the decomposed body was recovered by the police last evening.
OC, Ulidih thana, Meghnath Mandal said the murder victim, Kuni Gope, was a construction worker and used to stay with Gorai at a room in the under-construction apartment.
“Gorai who worked as a Mason in the same apartment was the second husband of murder victim and killed her after seeing her in an objectionable condition with someone one else on January 13 evening, ” said the OC.
Mandal said after probing the matter they could know the mystery behind the brutal murder of the woman and late in the night arrested Gorai from Ghatshila where he had fled after committing the murder.
Meghnath Mandal said as the murder victim was originally a resident of Chakradharpur in West Singhbhum, they have informed the family members of the victim.
“We have shifted the body to the MGM Medical College mortuary for post-mortem, but are yet to register a case. We will register the case only after taking a statement from the victim’s family members, ” said the OC.
