Paarl, Jan 19: India will seek to make atonement in the next three-match ODI series in South Africa after losing the Test series 2-1. On Wednesday, the first one-day international will be played at Boland Park in Paarl.

KL Rahul will lead the Indian Cricket Team in the absence of Rohit Sharma, with Jasprit Bumrah taking over as vice-captain. Despite the absence of Rohit Sharma, India has a strong batting line-up capable of putting up high totals.

Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul are likely to open the batting order. Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant will make up the middle order. Shardul Thakur and Venkatesh Iyer are two excellent all-rounders in India’s squads.

In the first game on Wednesday, it will be intriguing to see how many all-rounders India uses. Jasprit Bumrah will be in charge of the fast bowling section. Along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Siraj, and Deepak Chahar, he will share the fast bowling duties. It will be interesting to see how many of them play on Wednesday.

Team India will be up against South Africa, who are coming off a 2-1 victory over India in the last Test series. They’d like to keep the winning streak going and win the ODI series as well.

Temba Bavuma has been named captain of the white-ball format because Quinton de Kock stepped down as captain across all formats. In the forthcoming series, he will be the team’s captain. Quinton de Kock, on the other hand, is still an important member of South Africa’s white-ball team.
