Ranchi, Jan 21: The third wave of the Corona pandemic has rapidly come under control in Jharkhand. This was reflected in the data released by the health department of the state.

The data shows that a week ago, the 7 days growth rate was at 0.99% while the 7 days doubling rate remained at 70 days. The data released on Thursday suggests that the 7 days growth rate has reduced to 0.57% while the 7 days doubling rate shifted to 122 days.

With the increase in the cases of recovery, the recovery rate in the state has increased from 91.15% to 92.58%. A week ago, about 2000 patients were getting recovered from the infection which at present has crossed the mark of 4000 daily recoveries.

At the same time the corona infection has also started to decrease significantly in the state. On January 13, 4000 corona infected persons were found, which came down to 2,449 cases on January 20.

On the other hand, the mortality rate has also decreased, the data suggests that a week ago it was at 1.33% which has come down to 1.26%.

However, the slow pace of vaccination rate has affected the state to complete the 100% coverage of the vaccination within the prescribed time limit.

The latest vaccination data released by the health department on January 20 suggests that 83% of the state’s population have received their first shot while 52% have received both.

As of January 20, 32% have received their first among the age group of 15-17. As many as 3 districts including Koderma, Latehar and Gumla have administered the first dose to more than 50% of the eligible beneficiaries among the 15-17 age group.
