Lata Mangeshkar’s funeral procession begins: celebrities, ministers arrive to pay tribute

Mumbai, Feb 6: The mortal remains of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar arrived at the Shivaji Park Cremetorium. The final rites will take place with full state honours at 6:30 pm.

PM Modi also reached Mumbai and will arrive shortly to pay his respect. Union ministers from Maharashtra will remain present.

The mortal remains of singing legend Lata Mangeshkar, draped in the national flag, were taken in a truck from her residence in south Mumbai to Shivaji Park where the funeral rites began by playing her song “Meri Aawaz Hi Pehchaan Hai”.
Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar’s sister Asha Bhosle has reached Shivaji Park with the funeral procession.

Maharashtra CM Udhaw Thackery, Actor Shahrukh Khan, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar are also present at the Shivaji Park Crematorium. Nationalist Congress Party Chief Sharad Pawar, Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil arrived at Shivaji Park to pay his last respects to legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar.

Leader of opposition in the Maharashtra assembly Devendra Fadnavis and Goa CM Pramod Sawant join Lata Mangeshkar funeral procession in Mumbai. They curtailed their election campaign in Goa and came to Mumbai to pay last respects.

Celebrities such as Raju Srivastav, Shaan, Kailash Kher and Mika Singh were also spotted at Shivaji Park.
