New Delhi, Feb 9: Pakistan’s foreign minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, received a strong response from AIMIM head Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday morning when he sought to lecture India on girl’s education.

AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi ordered the neighbours to mind their own business while speaking at an election rally in Uttar Pradesh. Owaisi stated that a government that was unable to safeguard Malala should not lecture India on the need of female education.

“Pakistan should not lecture India on girl education. Malala was shot there. They failed to provide security to their girls and are now lecturing India,” said Owaisi.

Following Pakistan’s foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s statement that India was “violating Muslim girls’ human rights by denying them of education,” Owaisi made his remark.

“Depriving Muslim girls of an education is a grave violation of fundamental human rights. To deny anyone this fundamental right & terrorise them for wearing a hijab is absolutely oppressive,” said Shah Mahmood Qureshi in a tweet.

“World must realise this is part of Indian state plan of ghettoisation of Muslims,” he added.

In a response to Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Owaisi stated that the Karnataka hijab debate was an internal matter for India, and that others should not interfere. “Pakistanis should be concerned with their internal difficulties; there is no need to interfere in our problems,” he stated.

Earlier in the day, Owaisi tweeted that he had spoken with Muskan, the girl who was heckled by a mob in Karnataka on Tuesday for wearing a burqa to college. He stated that he had spoken with the young lady and her family.

“Prayed for her to remain steadfast in her commitment to education while also exercising her freedom of religion & choice. I conveyed that her act of fearlessness has become a source of courage for us all,” said Owaisi.
