Jamshedpur, Feb 16: Jamshedpur Business Area of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) got three awards at the two champions league events organized at an all-India level.

The corporate office of the telecom major had launched two championship league events in Jan 2022 to not only foster healthy competition among various units of BSNL across the country but also recognize/award the leading performers across different events.

The two events were –

Rolling out of PDO (Public Data Office) to enable Wi-fi Internet access in rural areas at affordable prices and Bharat Fibre Champion League (BFCL) for expansion of FTTH services across the country.

M/s. SBP Enterprises, one of the FTTH partners of Jamshedpur, by installing 4 OLTs and giving 130 connections got 170 points and emerged as the winner in the Jharkhand Telecom Circle.

Jamshedpur Business Area got the third position in rolling out of PDOs in all India basis by commissioning 11 PDOs in January 2022. The PDOs were made operational at the sites like- Baharagora, Dhalbhumgarh, Ghatshila, Chaibasa-2, Jhinkpani, Jagannathpur-2, Patamda, Kapali and Narwa.

The first two positions were received by Hamirpur of HP Circle and Dharamshala of HP Circle respectively.

Jamshedpur BA, with active contribution from two FTTH partners viz., M/s. SBP Enterprises and M/s. Vastav Industries got the second position in the eastern zone under BFCL with 246 points.

The first position was occupied by Ranchi Business Area with 345 points. The third position was occupied by Kolkata with 147 points.

The prize distribution/felicitation programme was done through virtual mode on Tuesday under the chairmanship of the director (CFA), BSNL Board Vivek Banzal. The virtual event was attended by all the senior officers of BSNL across the country.

Sanjeev Verma, general manager of Jamshedpur Business Area said that all the three awards that the Jamshedpur BA has got are dedicated to the energetic, passionate employees of Jamshedpur along with strong FTTH partners.

“Jamshedpur BA has been the torchbearer of FTTH service in Jharkhand Circle and because of healthy competition among different BA of Jharkhand Circle, the circle has become a strong player in the east zone.  The momentum needs to be continued, as still, we have realized only 20 % of the total FTTH potential of Jamshedpur,” he said.
