Police release photos of Maoists who escaped during operation in Lohardaga

Ranchi, Feb.24: Jharkhand police released a list of as many as 17 Maoists carrying bounty who escaped in civil dresses from Bulbul forest in Lohardaga despite a mega operation against them for 12 consecutive days.

Releasing the list with the photographs today, the police asked people to give information regarding their whereabouts. For the work, the police promised award and confidentiality of identification of informers.

The names of two regional commanders, Ravindra Ganjhu and Aman Ganjhu, who carry a bounty of Rs 15 lakh each on their heads is on the top of the list followed by names of two zonal commanders carrying a bounty of Rs 10 lakh each, Muneshwar Ganjhu and Neeraj Singh Kherwar.

There are seven in the lists who carry a bounty of Rs 5 lakh each and they are sub-zonal commanders including Sheetal Mochi, Aghanu Ganjhu, Balak Ganjhu, Pradeep Kherwar, Santu Bhuiyan, Chandrabhan Pahan and Ranthu Oraon.

Three in the list, which carry a bounty of Rs 2 lakh each, are area commanders including Kajesh Ganjhu, Raju Bhuiyan and Anil Turi. The remaining three are Maoists, who carry a bounty of Rs one lakh each without any rank. They include Jatru Kherwar, Surajnath Kherwar and Hemant Asur.

 

 

During the operation in Bulbul forest, security personnel engaged in an anti-Naxal operation had killed one Maoist and arrested as many as nine Maoists besides recovering a cache of arms and ammunition at the cost of injuries of three CoBRA jawans in two separate IED blasts.

As many as 10 encounters had taken place during the operation which started following information of the presence of as many as 40 Maoists planning to disturb bauxite mining in the area.
