Ramgarh, March 3: Aman Tejaswini, a resident of Ramgarh who was stranded in the horrors of the Russia-Ukraine war, has returned to her homeland safely.

After coming from Ukraine to Romania and then from Bucharest to Delhi, Tejaswini finally reached Ranchi on March 1. From there she went to her home in Ramgarh, approximately 55 kms from Ranchi.

“I am a student of MBBS and for the last 4 years, I was studying in Ivanfrankavis, the western part of Ukraine. We were very nervous after the situation of war arose.  In such a situation, I had to leave Ukraine,” she said.

Tejaswini stated that the group of students with whom she was associated was close to Romania. So all of them hired a bus and arrived at the border in 3 hours, where they were granted permission to enter the border after hours of hard effort.

After crossing the border, she got many facilities which made it easier for her to travel back to India. Along with other Indian students, she reached Bucharest Airport in Romania by bus and then came to Delhi by Indigo flight.

Tejaswini said that she did not pay the flight fare. At the same time, she travelled from Delhi to Ranchi on her expenditure.

Appreciating the efforts of the Indian government, she said that the situation in Ukraine is very dire. Since she was in the western part, it was not difficult to get out of there. But for the students who are in the middle and eastern parts, it is very difficult for them to reach the nearby border of Ukraine.

Expressing gratitude to the Government of India, Tejaswini said that the government, which is now working on the plan to evacuate the students from within the border, will prove to be very helpful.

“We had put the tricolour in front of the bus to safely reach the Romania border from Ivanfrancis. This had the effect that they reached the Romanian border unimpeded, where there were already long queues, which could take from 4 hours to two days to cross,” she said.

According to her, the students in Ukraine have been living in bunkers for many days. There are a lot of problems with food and drink. At the same time, bus and taxi drivers are taking advantage of the situation by demanding higher fares.
