Ranchi, March 3: Awaiting some provision for old pension scheme state government employees, who joined the service after the old pension scheme was abolished in the year 2004, are not happy with the budget state finance minister Rameshwar Oraon today presented in the assembly.

“Employees had expected something for the old pension scheme in the budget but the same is completely missing. Chief minister Hemant Soren had promised it in his party election manifesto. But his statement not committing anything for the same suggests he is not serious about the same,” said state president of National Movement for Restoration of Old Pension (NMOPS), Vikrant Kumar Singh.

“We have taken serious note of the neglecting attitude of the chief minister to whom we have met before the budget session after the decision for introduction of the old pension scheme was taken in Rajasthan and did not go for any agitation on this position assurance. It appears that the budget has been presented by those who enjoy the old pension scheme but do not want to give the same facility to others,” Vikrant added.

The regional deputy general secretary of the organization, Anand Kishore Sahu said that the employees cannot wait for eternity on the assurance of the chief minister.

“We are serious about your issue. Keeping CM’s respect, we have not done any kind of demonstration since the formation of the government, but the negative attitude of the departmental officials is forcing us to agitate,” Sahu said.

Regional treasure of the organization Nitin Kumar said that restoration of old pensions will give no financial burden on the government but no one in the government is considering the same.

“Instead of giving additional burden it will help save the government’s money being spent under NPS,” he said.
