Dhanbad, Mar 15: A posh hotel in Dhanbad on Tuesday paid the pending wage amounting to Rs 1.87 lakh to its three employees under the arbitration of the district labour superintendent.

Three employees of Bank More Shashtri Nagar based Hotel Castle Status Restaurant and Bar Ravindra Bharti, Md Aslam Khan and Md Nasim Khan had lodged a complaint in the district labour department against the hotel management for holding up their wage payment after getting work done in the hotel on November 18, 2021.

Taking the complaint seriously, District Labour Superintendent Praveen Kumar had served a notice to the hotel management for appearing in the office on March 15, 2022.

As per the notice, both the parties appeared in the labour department office today and after arbitration, Hotel Castle Status and Bar Restaurant agreed to pay the pending wage to all three employees and issued the cheque of Rs 1.87 lakh duly on the spot.

As per arbitration, the management paid Rs 82,000 to Md Aslam Khan, Rs. 62,500 to Ravindra Bharti and  Rs 42,500 to Nasim Khan.

Labour superintendent Praveen Kumar directed the hotel management to follow the Payment of Wage Act 1936 strictly so that such disputes never arise in future again.

This is the first time when employees of the hotel have been paid their pending wage held up by management under the arbitration of the labour department in the Dhanbad district.
