Ranchi, March 26: The Rotary club of Jharkhand & Bihar will provide free heart surgeries to 100 children suffering from congenital heart disease. The initiative has been taken by Pratim Banerjee, District Governor of Rotary Club of Ranchi South along with the District Trainer P. DG Vivek Kumar and GOL Coordinator DGN S. P. Bagaria.
Nirmal Tigga, Secretary of Rotary Club of Ranchi South spoke to Lagatar24.com and explained about the initiative.
“Initially, the children will be tested at their local hospitals or Pathology labs and if their test reports show any symptoms then they will be sent to Patna for the final screening camp which will be held jointly by Rotary Chanakya and Rotary Patna City Samrat at Savera Hospital,” he said.
The objective of the club is to outreach the needy by posting banners at prominent private and government hospitals, and other such sites. Cardiologist from Maa Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences Kochi will conduct the screening camps in Patna on April 23-24.
If a child is found fit for surgery then the surgery will take place at AIIMS Kochi. The Rotary Club will pay the fee for surgery. The cost of accommodation of one attendant and patient will be free.
