Ranchi, April 6: A total of 26 players were selected during the selection trial of women hockey players conducted by Hockey Jharkhand at Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi. A total of 51 players from Jharkhand participated.
Out of the 26 players, 18 players will be selected for the Jharkhand team for the 12th Hockey India Senior National Women’s Hockey Championship which will be held in Bhopal from May 6 to 17.
Hockey Jharkhand Secretary Vijay Shankar has said that just as we Indians celebrate National Sports Day on August 29, similarly people from all over the world celebrate International Sports Day on April 6.
