Mumbai, April 18: The Delhi Capitals have been forced to reschedule their scheduled trip to Pune ahead of their match against Punjab Kings on Wednesday due to the COVID-19 concern.
Another member of the team has tested positive in a Rapid Antigen Test and will be subjected to RT-PCR a few days after physio Patrick Farhart tested positive for the virus.
The players have been quarantined in their lodgings as a precaution, with door-to-door Covid-19 tests set for Monday and Tuesday. The BCCI will make a decision on Wednesday’s match depending on how things go.
Earlier, the team Physio Patrick Farhart had been isolated after testing positive for Covid-19.
Matches between teams that are unable to field a playing XI due to the COVID-19 problem will be postponed, according to BCCI rules. If this isn’t practicable, the matter will be sent to the IPL Technical Committee, which will make a final decision. Notably, the Delhi Capitals are scheduled to play against Mayank Agarwal-led Punjab Kings in Pune on Wednesday.
