Ranchi, April 19: A clash between groups of children in conflict with the law left three children injured at observation in Dumardaga under Sadar police station in the Jharkhand capital.

The incident took place on Monday evening but its impact was observed even today when the parents of these children were heard complaining against the security of the observation home.

The official reason behind the incident has not been ascertained so far. Insiders, however, cite ‘poor supervision’ and ‘poor age determination process’ causing the existence of adults with children in the observation home’ as reasons.

Observation home in-charge Abu Sufiyan could not be contacted for his comment on the matter.

Additional director (social security) Satrunjay Kumar is supposed to take care of the observation home. Contacted him for his comment, and he said steps were taken to improve the situation.

“Six additional forces will be deployed for proper observation of children inside the observation. For external security talks are on with police,” Kumar said.

Asked regarding electronic surveillance, Kumar said: “As many as 32 CCTV cameras have already been installed to electronic surveillance of the observation home.”

Earlier, in a similar incident on February 6 many as eight students had sustained injuries and were admitted to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for treatment.
