Mumbai, April 19: In the aftermath of the COVID-19 outbreak in the Delhi camp, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to move Wednesday’s Indian Premier League match between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings to Mumbai.
The match was originally slated to take place at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, but the BCCI wishes to avoid travel in light of the current situation.

On Tuesday, the BCCI released a statement announcing the move of the match from MCA Stadium in Pune to Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai in order to avoid any future incident as a result of an undetected case during a long-distance bus travel in a closed environment.
Mitchell Marsh, an overseas player for the Delhi Capitals, was brought to the hospital on Monday after his second RT-PCR test came back positive. After testing positive for the virus, a few additional members of the franchise, including physio Patrick Farhart, the team masseuse, and the team doctor, have been placed in isolation.
The Capitals’ intended trip to Pune was also cancelled, and the entire unit was placed in isolation and subjected to regular testing.
The COVID positive cases are being isolated and monitored, according to the statement. On Days 6 and 7, they will be tested, and if both tests come back negative, they will be re-integrated into the Delhi Capitals bio-secured bubble.
