Mumbai, April 20: KL Rahul, the captain of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), was fined 20% of his match fees for violating the Indian Premier League (IPL) Code of Conduct during the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai on Tuesday, April 19.

Apart from Rahul, veteran all-rounder Marcus Stoinis was admonished after the Super Giants were defeated by Faf du Plessis and Co. by 18 runs. Both Rahul and Stoinis were charged with Level 1 offences and acknowledged to the violation, according to an IPL announcement.

The Super Giants had a great start to the IPL 2022 season, but losses in two of their last three games have pushed them back a little. With eight points and a net run rate of +0.124, Rahul and his teammates are presently ranked fourth in the standings.

PBKS failed to chase down 182 against RCB as Josh Hazlewood took four wickets. The Super Giants had a realistic opportunity to beat the Challengers’ score, but they crumbled after Stoinis was thrown out in the run-penultimate chase’s over.

The Super Giants will now lock horns with Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians (MI) on Sunday, April 24 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
