New Delhi, April 23: The University Grants Commission (UGC) and the national-level council for technical education AICTE have advised Indian students not to travel to Pakistan for pursuing higher education.

The higher education regulatory bodies issued a joint public notification in this regard on Friday. It stated that such candidates will not be eligible for employment or higher studies in India thereafter.

“Any Indian national or Overseas Citizen of India who intends to take admission to any degree college of Pakistan shall not be eligible for seeking employment in India based on such educational qualifications acquired in Pakistan,” read the notification issued by the secretary of UGC and member secretary of AICTE.

However, this does not apply to migrants who have been granted Indian citizenship. Such candidates are eligible for seeking employment in India after obtaining Security Clearance from MHA.
