PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, April 23: IMD’s forecast for rain and thunderstorm on Friday and Saturday in isolated places of Jharkhand fizzled out as Nor’wester activity played truant.

In absence of adequate moisture, Nor’wester activity failed to trigger on both days.

Instead, the Met Office has issued an alert of a heatwave with a rise in maximum temperature by 2 to 4°c in the next two days.

The most affected districts would be Gharwa,  Chatra, Palamu, Koderma and Giridih.

The heatwave alert has been sounded for all these districts for three days from Monday, April 25.

Daltonganj with 42 degrees Celsius is still notching the highest temperature in the state.

This is followed by  Godda, Deoghar and Giridih where the maximum reading is hovering between 40 and 41 degrees Celsius for the last two days.

The Met Office forecast suggests a clear sky in all the 24 districts for the next three to four days.
