Ranchi, May 18: The Bihar Art Theatre on Wednesday organised a fundraiser at the Aryabhatta auditorium. Present as chief guest and guests of honour on the occasion were actors Manoj Bajpayee, Md Zeeshan Ayub and veteran journalist and Rajya Sabha deputy chairman Harivansh Narayan.

Bajpayee applauded the performance of actors in the play ‘Dharti Aba’ staged on the occasion and said, “First of all, as both I and Zeeshan have had a background in theatre, hence I understand the importance of their hard work behind the staging of this play. I commend both the actors and the directors Suman sir and Abhishek for their dedication.”

“I believe, theatre doesn’t only produce actors but makes one a human being. This is why I always say that every parent must make sure that their child has a connection to theatre, if not as an artist, then as an audience because theatre helps build a person’s character. I urge parents to always keep their children close to theatre for the overall betterment of society,” the actor added.

Journalist Narayan on the occasion, while talking of his experience during the pandemic said, “The world, during the pandemic proved that humans can face all kinds of obstacles and problems in life. Not only this, but Covid also taught us that despite being lonely we can always find a way to be part of a collective, a society.”

Md Ayub, while talking of his experience during his visit to Jharkhand said, “This is the first time that I have visited this state, and I am in awe of the greenery and beauty here. I hope to visit here soon.”

Furthermore, the artists on the occasion performed the folk dance of both Jharkhand and Bihar on the occasion before the staging of the play ‘Dharti Aba’, directed by senior directors Suman and Abhishek. Notably, several students of the university’s Fine Arts department were also a part of the performance on the occasion. Several corona warriors were also felicitated on the occasion.
