New Delhi, Jan 6: Delhi will get its next Mayor on Friday over a month after a high-stakes battle for control of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
For the top position in the civic body, Shelly Oberoi of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP is running against Rekha Gupta of the BJP, a councillor from Shalimar Bagh.
Aaley Muhammad Iqbal from the AAP, Jalaj Kumar from the BJP, and Kamal Bagri from the party are the candidates for deputy mayor.
The Congress has declared that it will not take part in the election and that it will neither support the BJP nor AAP.
