Pilot dies after aircraft crashes into temple in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa

New Delhi, Jan 6: The pilot of a trainer aircraft was killed after it crashed in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district, police said on Friday.

An official reported that the mishap, which happened on Thursday night at about 11.30 p.m., injured a trainee pilot who was on board.

According to J P Patel, the in-charge of the Chorhatta police station, the plane, which was on a training sortie, crashed three kilometres from the airstrip after colliding with a tree and a temple’s dome.

Anshul Yadav, a student pilot, was injured in the collision and taken to the government-run Sanjay Gandhi Medical College Hospital, according to the official. Captain Vishal Yadav (30) was killed in the collision.

Rewa collector Manoj Pushp and Superintendent of Police Nanvneet Bhasin were at the spot.
