ACB Seeks Time to Respond to Navin Kedia’s England Travel Petition in Jharkhand Liquor Scam

Ranchi: The ACB special court heard the petition filed by Jharkhand liquor scam accused Navin Kedia seeking permission to travel to England, with the ACB requesting additional time to file its response. The court granted the request and fixed the next hearing for May 27.

Why Kedia Wants to Travel

Kedia has approached the ACB special court seeking permission to travel to England from June 1 to July 23, citing his son’s graduation ceremony in London, a health checkup, and other personal reasons. As a condition of his bail, he has deposited his passport with the ACB court and has now requested its return for the foreign trip.

Background of the Case

The ACB arrested Navin Kedia on March 11. He is a resident of Durg in Chhattisgarh and is accused of supplying low-quality country liquor in Jharkhand. He was subsequently granted bail by the Jharkhand High Court. The liquor scam case has seen several arrests including that of IAS officer Vinay Chaubey, with most of the accused having since secured bail.
