Active Covid cases in India drop to 14,493

New Delhi, May 14: The Union Health Ministry stated on Monday that India had 801 new COVID-19 cases in the previous 24 hours.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare bulletin stated that the number of active cases decreased to 14,493 in the past 24 hours from the 15, 515 instances reported on Sunday.

In the previous 24 hours, 1,815 recoveries were recorded by the nation. With this, there have been 4,44,35,204 Covid recoveries overall. Of all recorded cases, there are currently 0.3% active cases.

According to a statement from the Union Health Ministry, there have been 55,636 COVID tests performed in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of tests performed in the nation to 92.86 crore.

367 doses have been administered in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of vaccine doses given so far under the nationwide vaccination drive to 220.66 crore (95.21 crore second doses and 22.87 crore precaution doses).

According to the Union Health Ministry, the recovery Rate is currently 98.78%, the Daily Positivity Rate is 1.11%, and the Weekly Positivity Rate is 1.11%.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been declared to be no longer a worldwide health emergency, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO).

However, Dr Rakesh Mishra, director of the Tata Institute for Genetics and Society (TIGS), stated on May 8 that it is still necessary to monitor the viral load and the emergence of any new variants.
