Dhanbad, Dec 13: Dhanbad SDM Prem Kumar Tiwari has imposed Section 144 of CrPc once again in the colliery of block -2 area of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), under Baghmara police station of the district, for an indefinite period over the apprehension of supremacy clash among coal mafias.

An outsourcing company named ‘Ambay Mining Private Limited’ is engaged in mining coal in one of the areas of the colliery group clash for establishing supremacy on coal turf is apprehended by the administration. So, for maintaining law and order in the colliery, the SDM has clamped Section 144 from today.

In this regard, the magistrate deployed there put up a notice of  Section 144 on the gate of the outsourcing company on Sunday evening and informed the people in the surrounding area through a loudspeaker about the same.

The official said that following these prohibitory orders, no rally, meeting or demonstration would be held in a 500m radius of the mines. Legal action would be taken if any attempt is made to pose any obstacle in mining work.

Since  Ambay Mining Private Limited had been turned into a central point of the clash between different groups of coal mafias, the district administration had imposed Section 144 for the first time on February 9.

Official sources said that action has been taken on the directive of the new deputy commissioner (DC) Sandip  Kumar to ensure smooth mining operation of the outsourcing companies in the district-based collieries.

Last month while reviewing the mining, he had set up a high-level committee of district police, CISF, BCCL to check frequent clashes in the colliery and illegal mining in the district.
The DC had also sought a list from the coal company area management and officer-in-charge of the concerned police station about the leaders of political parties and trade unions involved in creating hurdles in the mining process of the outsourcing company for personal gain.
