New Delhi, Feb 10: Bharti Airtel announced the launch of Airtel Xstream Premium on Thursday. It is a new video streaming service that combines content from 15 popular video applications into a single subscription for Rs 149 per month.
According to Adarsh Nair, CEO of Airtel Digital, Airtel is targeting 20 million new consumers for this paid product.
“Airtel Xstream Premium is a game-changing innovation to democratise OTT content in India by solving the key challenges of content discovery, affordability and distribution.
“As a unified digital platform, it’s a win-win proposition for customers and OTT players alike as we begin an exciting journey to make digital entertainment mainstream in India,” Nair said.
According to the business, the Airtel Xstream Premium offering combines content from 15 Indian and international video OTTs into a single app.
On Airtel Xstream Premium, customers will have access to over 10,500 movies and shows, as well as live channels from SonyLIV, ErosNow, Lionsgate Play, Hoichoi, ManoramaMax, Shemaroo, Ultra, HungamaPlay, EPICon, Docubay, DivoTV, Klikk, Nammaflix, Dollywood, Shorts TV.
Xstream Premium is a substantially updated version of the company’s prior free content offering.
Airtel Xstream Premium can be accessed via the app or online on mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and TVs, as well as through the Xstream set-top box. For the time being, it will only be available to Airtel customers.
It will provide each user with a single app, a single subscription, a single sign-in, unified content search, and AI-driven tailored curation.
“All of this content is available exclusively to Airtel customers at… price of just Rs 149 per month,” the statement said.
