Lucknow, Feb 10: The Allahabad High Court’s Lucknow Bench granted bail to the main accuse Ashish Mishra , the son of Union minister Ajai Mishra Teni, in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident in which some farmers were slain, on Thursday
On October 9, Ashish was detained in connection with the violence that erupted in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, on October 3. Ashish Mishra was charged with a conspiracy to destroy evidence under Section 201 of the Indian Penal Code.
Notably, on 3 October, Violence broke out in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri district leading to the death of 8 persons including 4 farmers. On 17 November, the Supreme Court-appointed retired Punjab and Haryana High Court judge Rakesh Kumar Jain to monitor the investigation into the Lakhimpur violence.
