Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar will be cremated with full state honours on Thursday at 11 AM in Katewadi, Baramati. His entire family has already arrived in Baramati for the last rites.
Body to Be Kept for Public Tribute
Before the cremation, Ajit Pawar’s mortal remains will be placed at Vidya Pratishthan in Baramati for the public to pay their respects. The Maharashtra government has declared three days of state mourning in his honour. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reportedly spoke with Sharad Pawar to express condolences on Ajit Pawar’s untimely demise.
Fadnavis and Other Leaders Mourn the Loss
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis expressed his deep grief, stating, “My dear friend and colleague, a true people’s leader, Deputy CM Ajit Dada Pawar, lost his life in a tragic plane crash. This is a heart-wrenching moment. I am in shock. Words fail to convey this catastrophic loss. It is both a personal and irreparable tragedy. I offer my deepest, heartfelt tribute to Dada.”
Fatal Crash Claims Multiple Lives
Ajit Pawar’s private aircraft crashed while landing in Baramati on Thursday morning. Along with him, the crash also claimed the lives of his personal security officer HC Vidip Jadhav, pilot Captain Sumit Kapoor, co-pilot Captain Sambhavi Pathak, and flight attendant Pinky Mali.
