Ramgarh, Nov. 28:  AJSU Party’s Central General Secretary cum MLA Dr. Lambodar Mahto and Central General Secretary cum Party’s Barkagaon Assembly in-charge Roshan Lal Chaudhary met Governor Ramesh Bais on Sunday.

The meeting was regarding the rights of the displaced affected people of Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited  (PVUNL) (Former PTPS).

They were apprised to the Governor that despite the continuous raising of voices by the displaced peoples since the inception of Patratu Thermal Power Station (PTPS), no one was given job and rehabilitation after acquiring 65 acres of land in 25 villages at throwaway rates.

“Many people have not yet received compensation and other people have fled.  Meanwhile NTPC came into existence as PVUNL in 2015-16 for construction of 4000 MW power plant, closing down the PTPS factory. The re-displaced and affected are constantly coming up with their voices before the PVUNL management, administration and the government, placing their legitimate demands. But it is with great sadness that many times assurances have been given through bilateral and tripartite talks but no concrete and positive steps were taken regarding compliance.  The problems remain the same,” said  MLA Dr. Lambodar Mahto.

“Ignoring the displaced and the affected, PVUNL, UPL and various agencies of BHEL have continuously hired men from outside and this process is still going on.  Due to this negligence, there is great despair and resentment among the displaced families,” he added.

Dr. Lambodar Mahto and Roshan Lal Chaudhary said that the attention of the Governor was drawn to the 15-point demands announced by the Jharkhand government, including the implementation of 50 percent reservation in the appointment of PVUNL to the displaced, affected and local people and intervening on this subject to take positive action on resolving the pending problems for years.  It was requested to the governer to direct the State Government regarding this issue.
