Ranchi, March 26: The agitation for Khatiyan-based local and employment policy is likely to intensify in the state as the AJSU, which planned Jail Bharo Andolan on April 14, has convened a meeting on March 29 to review its preparedness.
Those invited to participate in the meeting include in-charges of all the 81 assemblies besides district in-charges, district presidents, district secretaries, and working presidents. Party’s central president Sudesh Kumar Mahto will preside over the meeting.
Apart from the Khatiyan based local policy, the party’s demands include population-wise reservation to the backwards, caste census, introduction of Sarna religion code in census and unemployment allowance to the unemployed, check on the loot of state resources, and respect to those agitating for Jharkhand separate state.
Central spokesperson of the party Deosharan Bhagat informed this saying that the party had been agitating for the abovementioned demands and earlier also laid siege to the assembly on March 7 to thwart which the state government had deployed all its machinery.
Bhagat said before the review of the preparedness for agitation, the oath-taking taking ceremony of all the newly appointed office-bearers of the district unit of the party will take place.
