Ranchi: Ahead of Durga Puja, Jharkhand Police has gone on high alert and cancelled all police personnel’s leaves from September 20 to October 4. DGP Anurag Gupta issued key instructions to ensure security and maintain law and order during the festive season.

Statewide Deployment to Maintain Order

The decision to revoke leaves was taken to ensure adequate police deployment across all districts during the celebrations. Senior officers, including zonal IGs, DIGs, district SPs, and commandants, have been asked to make sure that sufficient forces are available to tackle any emergency.

Special Permission Required for Leave

According to the directive, leave will only be granted in exceptional cases with approval from the concerned authority. The police headquarters has also instructed all personnel, from inspectors to constables, to remain on standby so they can be called to duty at short notice if needed.
