Ranchi, Feb.21: Former union minister and senior Congress leader Subodh Kant Sahay sees no future of his party in Jharkhand under the existing alliance.  He made this clear on the second of the party’s ongoing Chintan Shivir in Giridih.

“We have to see where we stand after working for the last two years in the state. During the past two years, neither a Common Minimum Programme was chalked out nor was the Coordination Committee formed. The announcements that are being made are becoming one-sided. There is no involvement of Congress. Will such an alliance save our organization?” Sahay asked.

“Even if the coordination committee is formed tomorrow, what will be its form? If we decide this, then only we will be able to say that this government is ours. If this does not happen, then with such alliance and coordination, we will not be able to fight the war of 2024,” Sahay added.

Earlier, Sahay expressed his concern over rising communalism in the country.

“Today the condition of the country is very bad. Everything is being sold in the country. The martyrdom which was given in 75 years of independence has come under threat today. Today, communal forces are dominating the country. The question becomes with whom to form an alliance to fight these communal forces. In such a situation, it is the responsibility of the national leadership to mobilize non-BJP parties and save the country. Our leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi have attempted an alliance in the recent past that is trustworthy,” he said.

Raising questions on the priority of regional parties, he said: “Today the country is dominated by regional parties. This is the truth. We also have a struggle with them. It’s a fight for the stake. Because they want to interfere in Congress’s land. But his thinking is limited. The way Rahul Gandhi is fighting eye-to-eye with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it is not the priority of other regional parties. Today it is not the expectation of the people of the country that the government should be formed, but the expectation is that the country is saved at the national level.”
