Ranchi, March 8: Train number 08689 Ranchi – Tori MEMU train was operated by 15 women personnel on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8 under Ranchi Railway Division.
This train was flagged off by Divisional Railway Manager Pradeep Gupta, SERWO Ranchi President Priyamvada Gupta and other women personnel from Ranchi station at 08:55 a.m.
On this occasion, the Divisional Railway Manager said that today women are setting an example in every field and have been walking step by step with men. In various departments of Ranchi Railway Division, women employees are performing their tasks with great ease and the number of women employees is increasing continuously.
The Ranchi-Tori MEMU train was operated by Loco Pilot Deepali Amrit and Assistant Loco Pilot Savita Kindo. The other members in the team included Passenger Train Manager Neeta Kumari, Malti Kujur and her team of four women personnel to check the tickets of passengers and trains. The safety of the passengers was looked at by Chandrani Biswas of Railway Protection Force and her team of five women personnel.
Along with this, all the work at Ranchi Railway Station today was conducted by women personnel. All the work of Ranchi railway station was done by 43 women railway personnel of different departments including train operations, booking office, mechanical department, medical department, sweeper and level crossing gate were also conducted by women.
The work of the station manager was done by Poonam Toppo. The operation of trains with electronic interlocking was looked after by Shashi Keedo. The safety of passengers at the station was under the leadership of Inspector Sunita Panna of the Railway Protection Force.
Divisional Commercial Manager (Freight) Arjun Majumdar, Divisional Commercial Manager Debraj Banerjee and other officers and employees were present on the occasion of the operation of the Ranchi-Tori MEMU passenger train operated by women.
