Amid ED and IT raids, tax experts to hold national meet in Ranchi

Ranchi, Nov.9: Amid the raids by the ED and IT in Jharkhand; a national conference of tax experts is being organized in the Jharkhand capital on November 12.

Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais will be chief guest in the conference while Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court Ravi Ranjan will be its special guest.

The chairman of press media committee, constituted to organize the conference, Ajay Kumar, informed this saying that its being jointly organized by the Jharkhand Income Tax Bar Association and Jharkhand Commercial Tax Bar Association (JCTBA) in association with All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (AIFTP) (East Zone).

Kumar said that there will be technical sessions in the conference. In the first technical session, he said there will be discussion on Indirect Tax. C.A. Vimal Jain, who is coming from New Delhi, will be keynote speaker. He will share his view of recent amendments in GST with practical aspects, he said.

“An advocate from Jamshedpur K.L. Mittal will be chairman while an advocate from Ranchi Ajay Kumar will be Moderator,” he said.

The second technical session discussion will take place on direct taxes. The main speaker of the session will be a senior advocate of the Supreme Court of India, Tarun Gulati. He will Speak on the Topic “impact of ED and Benami Property on the income Tax Act”, he said.

Kumar said that chief commissioner of Income Tax, Jharkhand, will be chairman and C.A. Rajesh Singhal from Dhanbad and Devesh Poddar, a local advocate, will be co-chairman of this Session.
