Ahmedabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Hindu Spiritual and Service Institute’s fair at GMDC Grounds, Ahmedabad, on Thursday. Addressing the gathering, Shah remarked, “A few years ago, saying ‘I am a Hindu’ in Delhi was challenging. Today, everyone says it with pride.”
Amit Shah to Attend Mahakumbh on January 27
Shah appealed to the public to participate in the Mahakumbh at Prayagraj and urged them to take the youth along. Sharing his personal experience, he revealed, “I have attended nine Kumbh events in my life, including Ardhkumbh. On January 27, I will visit the Mahakumbh. Everyone should attend to attain spiritual purification.”
India’s Pride Grows Over the Decade
Highlighting India’s progress under the Modi government, Shah said the nation’s pride has risen significantly in the past decade. He emphasized the government’s efforts in restoring stolen artifacts and divine idols from abroad, adding, “For 10 years, Prime Minister Modi and the BJP government have upheld our ideology and completed numerous initiatives aligned with our vision.”
Referring to Ayodhya, Shah noted, “After 550 years, Ram Lalla has emerged from the tent, and the temple is being built. Article 370 has been abrogated in Jammu and Kashmir.”
No Invitation Needed for Mahakumbh
Speaking about the ongoing Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Shah stated, “Many foreigners asked me for invitations to the Kumbh. I told them no invitation is needed. Forty crore people gather here, and the arrangements are managed by thousands of saints who endure the cold and take the holy dip in the Ganga.”
He compared the present Mahakumbh arrangements with those during the Mughal and Congress eras, emphasizing that the event is now conducted in an organized manner. Shah urged Gujaratis to seize the once-in-144-years opportunity to attend the Mahakumbh and purify themselves.
