Daltonganj, July 13: The 2011 batch IAS officer Anjaneyulu Dodde took over the charge as Palamu Deputy Commissioner today in block A of the collectorate.
The outgoing DC Shashi Ranjan handed over the charge in the DC’s chamber which had a battery of officials and media persons too.
The new incumbent Dodde was very warm and affectionate to the outgoing DC Shashi Ranjan when he said, ” Shashi has done good works here. We will carry it forward. When I will feel any need of taking any suggestions I will have it from Shashi.”
Dodde said he would go for new work here, especially in the Naxal-affected areas.
“Rural development will be our prioritised work,” he said.
“We will try to find out the challenges and envisage a plan to overtide the challenges,” he added.
However, the new DC Dodde has little time now when he should gear up his teams to work out to mitigate the sufferings of the poor and unskilled labourers in a time like this in Palamu where there is an acute deficiency of rain.
The second important challenge is to keep a tab on illegal mining and transportation of stone, chips, sand etc as the fortnight drive against it contained it to a great extent but any laxity is bound to help this multi-crore illegal operation of things make a rebound.
Sources said in this drive, around a dozen illegal brick kilns were razed to the ground rendering nearly 150 workmen and women at the brick kiln site to go out of jobs instantly.
There is no scheme either for engaging the work to men and women who got out of a job at the brick kiln when it was destroyed by the administration. MGNREGA is right now down the hill, said sources.
