Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said the 7.7 magnitude quake struck at 4.17 a.m. (0117GMT) and was centred in the Pazarcik district in the southern province of Kahramanmaras. The quake occurred at a depth of 7 kilometres (4.3 miles).
The terror occurred soon after a 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit southern Turkey and northern Syria early Monday, collapsing hundreds of buildings and killing more than 1,400 people and injuring thousands of others.
Hundreds were still believed to be trapped under the rubble, and the death toll was expected to rise as search and rescue operations continued. On both sides of the border, pre-dawn quakes roused residents outside on a cold, rainy and snowy winter night, as buildings collapsed and strong aftershocks continued.
Meanwhile, the Indian government on Monday immediately deployed search and rescue teams of the National Disaster Response Force, medical teams and relief materials to earthquake-hit Turkey after Prime Minister Narendra Modi instructed to offer all possible assistance to the country.

The powerful earthquake destroyed hundreds of buildings. Visuals from quake-hit areas show residents rushing outside on a cold night as they were jolted out of sleep by the pre-dawn earthquake.
The European Union also said it was sending rescue teams to Turkey after the affected country requested EU assistance.
